It was taken from a DVD source (I think), so this is as good as it's gonna get until someone uploads a higher quality Blu Ray version.

I hate the fact "Heat" is often tagged merely as a "crime/heist drama". It's infinitely more complex than a mere shoot-em-up. It's just a great, great film and worthy of being called a work of art.

Steven Orr - It’s definitely in the highest echelon of films for sure, and for some it will be their favourite film and what they consider the greatest of all. For me, it’s not top dog, but definitely in my top 5, amongst both Blade Runners & 2001.

This movie is a Cinematic MASTERPIECE, the GOAT. A veritable who's who list of actors and actresses. From the writing, to acting and the set locations were all spot on. I have a big poster autographed by about 20 of the actors & actresses, all verified and certified.

Honestly, whilst Scorsese is a master in his own right, Mann is truly the master of crime cinematography. The tension he builds and amount of accuracy (Kilmer reloading the Colt 733 for example) is astounding. Mann is truly the GOAT.

    • Tyler Tilwick
      Tyler Tilwick 21 दिन पहले

Chris C Scorsese understands the New York feel of mobsters. Mann understands the feel of Chicago and L.A. cops and criminals. He understands the duality and morality feel of cops/criminals, the “two-sided coin”.

Law enforcement (not the few who are racist etc) have a high need to protect innocent people and the vulnerable and I'm glad they are here to help us. It's true they do change and I didn't appreciate them until one said they see a lot of human nature that their soul can't take. Now that's profound. It's sad the few bad cops make it hard for the good ones. But I bet u never want to be a bad cops and land in prison.

There should be a remake of Heat.... with all female cast.....with diverse races..... directed by Michelle Wo-Mann....if she even exists.

I mean I'm not sure why the first 2 things would make it a bad film, just off that basis?

No, no, NO. Maybe a remake but NOT all female, look how Oceans 8 did, it was a flop and that is a FANTASTIC premise.

I nearly walked out 1st time I saw it. The segment where we get introduced to the couple's relationships, for me, was like c'mon, let's get to the action. I, of course stayed and watched the rest of the movie ... which I've easily seen 20 times :). Well done

    • milster

I managed to somehow stay nearly the whole movie. I was 16 or 17. It was kinda boring as you said, all about character's private lives, but then then it took upward. Bank shootout, cinematography, climax... Amazing. Besides, it totally surprised me nearly three hours long. Pure classic.
